Bhutan once was found to be the happiest nation on the earth. The humble and peaceful landlocked nation on the hills of Himalayas have long preserved their culture and national identity through regulation of foreign influence and tourism by the monarch.

It is becoming a democracy for the first time as the general elections were held there yesterday.
